Program
Benvenuti!
Welcome to the City of Trulli: ancient rural buildings with conical shape, each distinguished by strange symbols and pinnacles of various forms.
Piazza Martellotta divides the two souls of the city: the more touristic in Rione Monti, and the most authentic in Aia Piccola. Choose what to visit first but do not miss the amazing sunset over the Trulli from one of its terraces.
Cycling to Castellana Grotte
about 35km
This first ride will let you explore the fairytale territory surrounding Alberobello.
Gentle ups and downs will add even more zest to the day, and passing forests, cultivated fields, centuries-old olive trees and vineyards you will reach the Castellana Caves, which we highly recommend a visit! As you will see, there is another world underground, and you will discover the fascinating karst stone and its rock formations along a route of approximately 3 kilometres.
Along the way you will find the beautiful Putignano, famous for hosting the oldest Carnival in Europe.
You will return to Alberobello to enjoy the suggestive sunset among the trulli and stay overnight.
By bike to Locorotondo via Martina Franca
about 20km
Today you will begin to explore the green heart of Puglia, savoring its beauty and gastronomic specialties.
In Martina Franca, in addition to a splendid historic center made up of airy squares, large porticoes, churches and palaces decorated with typical Baroque splendor, some delicious attractions await you! Like the tasty capocollo, the fresh burrata, the aromatic bocconotto ... immersed in a Baroque that becomes almost Rococò and combining with the white lime creates an entirely unique style full of exotic charm.
you will reach Locorotondo, small white village with a wonderful balcony overlooking the heart of the Itria Valley. Here the lands are devoted to the cultivation of vines, which with the help of the sun produce a fresh and light white wine of high quality: the Locorotondo Doc.
Overnight among the typical "cummerse".
Cycling from Locorotondo to Ostuni
about 30km
Another day immersed in a fairy land, which in spring explodes in colours and scents of almond trees in bloom.
Down from Locorotondo you will follow the continuous undulations between Murge hills and Trulli, finding Cisternino. This incredibly beautiful village recalls the oriental charm, which is reflected in its hidden alleys, unexpected arches, decorated balconies, courtyards and stairways. Nice place for a lunch break or an icecream, or even for a good coffee at a bar table enjoying a wonderful view of the valley.
You will continue to Ostuni, which stands out for the limestone whitening its houses gathered by mighty walls that gives the contour to its historical centre.
Leave your bicycles to try to move up the road from the Piazza della Libertà to the Cathedral losing yourself without fear among the hundreds of blind alleys, squares and small courtyards.
Overnight in Ostuni.
Cycling between land and sea
about 30 km
From Ostuni you will arrive at the sea through the nature and history of these places.
You will pass the evocative environments of the Dune Costiere Regional Park, a unique corner of paradise of around a thousand hectares. The territory of this area preserves numerous natural habitats, fundamental for migratory species. Not only dunes, but also long beaches, Mediterranean scrub, bodies of water and wetlands, archaeological sites of historical-cultural importance, historic farms and rock settlements will fill your eyes and your heart with beauty and relaxation.
You will return to the White City for the last overnight stay.
Ostuni
After breakfast end of services.
